MSc in Mathematics
Requirements of one year M.Sc. Degree in Mathematics:Successful Completion of 38 Credits
In order to complete one year M. Sc. degree in Mathematics, we have two groups:
(i) General Group and (ii) Thesis Group. The required credit hours for each group are as follows:
General Group
First Semester:
Theory Courses: 6 = 18 Credits
Second Semester:
Theory Courses: 6 = 18 Credits
Practical/Defense/Viva on Dissertation Nil
Viva-Voce/Oral Exam. 02 Credits

Thesis Group
First Semester:
Theory Courses: 6 = 18 Credits
Second Semester:
Theory Courses: 4 = 12 Credits
Dissertation 04 Credits
Practical/Defense/Viva on Dissertation 02 Credits
Viva-Voce/Oral Exam. 02 Credits

Note: For Thesis Group students, thesis topics will be distributed at the very beginning of the 2nd semester of M.Sc. Students who intend to take the Thesis Group have to start working on their respective topics from the beginning of the 2nd semester of M.Sc. Thesis supervisors will supervise their respective thesis students. If a student fails to perform satisfactorily within two months of starting their thesis work, his or her thesis will be cancelled and he or she will be transferred to the General Group of M.Sc.
